The ABC Family Group is funded by donations from private industry, local charity fundraising organisations and various Government grants.  The majority of funds are pre-allocated towards projects.  For example, we have recently bought a Ninteno Wii, a Football table, a range of self help books for the children and parents, subsidising theatre trips (Christmas Panto, STOMP), family trips to Chatsworth House, Bowling.  We have also obtained funding to contribute towards respite for parents once a year for a night away.

Self-funding has been obtained through an annual Swimathon with the Rotary Club, Quiz Nights, 10k Runs and fun days.

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed towards the ABC Family Group and allowed us to continue running for over six years.

The Heaton's Traders have chosen the ABC Group as one of their nominated charities and will be helping with fundraising and offering help at local events.

ABC Volunteers ran a stall at the local Heatons Festival and managed to raise over £100 helping children paint T-Shirts.

The Town Bar provided a Wine Tasting for the parents with all money raised used to buy a new snooker table for ABC+.  Thanks to the Town Bar for a fantastic night tasting wine and nibbles.  We will be back!!!

Kings & Queen's Day for the Royal Wedding

We all celebrated the Royal Wedding by having a Kings & Queens Day where we did all things royal

Parents Bond Night

All the parents had sophisticated night out at the Bond night in memory of Paul.  We all enjoyed gambling, sipping Martini and the occasional glass of wine.

Halloween Disco

We all had a spooky Halloween disco with plenty of scary games!!!

Christmas Party

We all enjoyed our Christmas party with a magician starting the session followed by a food and a visit from Father Christmas

Teenagers at the ABC+ enjoyed a Chinese Christmas meal at a local Stockpork  restaurant.

We took part in the annual Rotary Club Swimathon again!!! This time we managed to swim 106 lengths in 55 minutes.

July 2009

Our last meeting before the summer we visit Chatsworth Hall, it was a lovely sunny day, which we spent in the playground on top of the hill. Everyone got mucky and wet and we met lots of animals in the farmyard.

We had our usual Talk Like A Pirate Day, and a lion came to our Halloween Disco!

December 2009

A Panto group came to visit our christmas party and we enjoyed a fab version of Aladdin! We then ahd a bit of a boogie!
